26 Roads in Jakarta will be Closed on New Year`s Eve, Check out the List...

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) will implement traffic engineering on New Year’s Eve on Sunday 31 December 2023.

With a series of events that will be held along Jalan M.H. Thamrin – Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that his party would implement traffic engineering in the form of closing roads at 26 points and alternative routes diverting traffic flow, starting at 19.00-01.00 WIB.

“We are implementing closures and diversions of traffic flow on Jakarta Global City’s Muda Mudi Night. We urge the public to obey the applicable rules and follow the directions of officers at the location, as well as prioritizing road safety,” said Syafrin in his statement, Friday (29/ 12/2023).

“We also strongly urge residents to use public transportation when going to event locations where we have synergized with public transportation organizers in Jakarta, such as the Indonesian Commuter Train and BUMD in the transportation sector to adjust operational times , thereby facilitating people’s mobility,” he continued.

Syafrin explained that a number of roads would be closed and the DKI Transportation Agency would provide alternative routes to divert traffic flow. The road sections that are closed are Jalan Jenderal Sudirman (starting from the Senayan Roundabout to the HI Roundabout), Jalan M.H. Thamrin (starting from the HI Roundabout to the Horse Statue Roundabout), Jalan Pintu 1 Senayan, Kupingan Semanggi Slow Lane (Gatot Subroto) West side, Jalan Bendungan Hilir, Jalan KH. Mas Mansyur, Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 5, Jalan Kupingan BNI 46, Jalan Kota Bumi and Jalan Baturaja, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Kebon Kacang.

Then, Jalan Sunda, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Sumenep Tosari, Landmark (Indocement), Jalan Setiabudi, Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio, Jalan Mosque (Sampoerna), Jalan Garrisun and Kolong Semanggi, Slow lane Kupingan Semanggi (Gatot Subroto) East side, SCBD, Jalan Tulodong Atas 2/Samping CIMB, Simpang Jalan Budi Kemuliaan and Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan Kebon Sirih from Arah West/east direction closed at Simpang Agus Salim, Jalan K.H Wahid Hasyim, and Jalan Majapahit.

Meanwhile, alternative routes for diverting traffic flow will be implemented as follows:

1. Traffic from South to North will be diverted via Jalan Hang Lekir I-Jalan Hang Tuah-Jalan Hang Lekir IV-Jalan Hang Lekir II-Jalan Hang Lekir I-Jalan Asia Afrika-Jalan Pemuda Gate-Jalan Gatot Subroto-Jalan K.S. Tubun-Jalan K.H. Mas Mansyur-Jalan Cideng-and so on. Road users can also use Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said-Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio-Jalan K.H. Mas Mansyur-and so on, as well as in the reverse direction (North to South);

2. Traffic from North to South is diverted via Jalan Ir. H. Juanda-Pos Road-Arts Building Road-North Field Road-West Field Banteng Road-Pejambon Road-M.I. Ridwan Rais towards Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said, etc. Or you can go via Jalan Gunung Sahari-Jalan Kramat Raya-Jalan Salemba-Jalan Proklik-Jalan Tambak-Jalan Prof. Dr. Sahardjo-and so on.

3. Traffic from East to West can go via Jalan M.I. Ridwan Rais-Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur-Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara-Jalan Abdul Muis-and so on. Meanwhile, reverse traffic from West to East can go via Jalan Abdul Muis-Jalan Majapahit on the West side-Jalan Ir. Haji Juanda-Jalan Pos-and so on. Road users can also go via Jalan Galunggung-Jalan R.M. Margono Djojohadikoesoemo-Path of Purification 1-and so on.
