As a comparison, Hendratno said that renting an electric car in Bali is cheaper because the cost of charging an electric vehicle battery is relatively cheaper than filling up fuel for a conventional vehicle.

It is noted that using the Wuling Air EV from the Kuta area to Kintamani only requires 1 charge at a price of around IDR 30,000 to IDR 50,000. Meanwhile, the cost of renting a car per day is only IDR 300 thousand.

“We are proud to be able to support the local government’s go green movement by providing electric car rental services in Bali. We also chose the Wuling Air EV as the electric car model for rental because its small size fits perfectly with the profile of the majority of roads in Bali which are not wide, “so tourists can be more comfortable driving or parking their vehicles,” said Hendratno.

Ease of Using Electric Cars in Bali

The Bali Provincial Transportation Service noted that there were more than 4,000 electric vehicle units in Bali as of the third quarter of 2023. The widespread use of EVs in Bali was followed by an increase in the number of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) .

To date, there are more than 60 SPKLU in Bali spread across strategic points such as port and hotel areas. Tourists can also charge electric cars at villas or rental houses that have adequate electrical power using a portable charger that can be taken anywhere.

“So tourists don’t need to hesitate to use electric vehicles to support their various mobility needs during their holidays in Bali,” concluded Hendratno.
