Appearing at the Indonesian Pavilion COP 28 Dubai, Astra Presents the Electric Vehicle Ecosystem and KBA Proklim

The Conference of the Parties 28 (COP 28) took place at Expo City Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 30 November—12 December 2023.

As a participant in COP 28 Dubai, the Indonesian Pavilion raised the theme Indonesia’s Climate Actions : Inspiring The World. Consists of four sub-themes, namely stronger new renewable energy commitments, robust climate action on land based sectors, inspiring finance and technology innovations, and solid collaborative climate action of people’s prosperity.

Quoted from Astra’s official release as received by , as a form of contribution in facing climate change, Astra is again supporting the Indonesian Pavilion at COP 28.

In this event, Astra Director Gita Tiffani Boer was also a resource person in the talk show session. The topic presented was Support Indonesia’s Transition to a Sustainable Future: Private Sector Contribution in Climate Action and Partners, which was presented on Thursday (30/11/2023).

Astra’s enthusiasm in realizing a positive contribution to the climate for today and Indonesia’s future is in line with Astra’s ideals of Prospering with the Nation and supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Gita Tiffani Boer conveyed that Astra 2030 Sustainability Aspirations with 10 sustainability aspirations is a guide to the Astra Group’s transition journey. The goal is to become a more sustainable company by 2030 and beyond.

In implementing efforts to reduce carbon emissions, throughout 2022 Astra has reduced Astra Group scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 10 percent.

Then 43 percent renewable energy mix to support operational activities, and increase business resilience with non-coal income of up to 74 percent.

To achieve this aspiration, Astra is transforming the company’s business through three Resilient Strategies , namely:

Resilient Portfolio : Astra is diversifying its portfolio to support the macro-decarbonization transition in Indonesia by developing renewable energy and the electric vehicle ecosystem.

Resilient Business Operation : as an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in all Astra operational activities, through Astra Green Energy, including energy management systems, energy conservation and efficiency programs, as well as the application of the latest energy-saving technology.

Resilient Communities : Astra has been committed to community development and progress. This is in line with Astra’s ideals to prosper with the nation.

“We encourage the community to adopt a sustainable lifestyle, help mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change through the Kampung Berseri Astra Proklim program (Climate Village Program) and social forestry programs,” said Gita Tiffani Boer.
