DKI Jakarta`s Air Quality Worsens Sunday Morning, Exceeding the Unhealthy Threshold

The air quality in DKI Jakarta today, Sunday (24/12/2023) is poor and experiencing a decline based on data from the IQAir air quality monitoring site. At 05.50 WIB, the air quality index (AQI) in Jakarta reached 172, in the moderate category, with a fine particulate matter (PM) figure of 2.5.

The latest air quality monitoring site listed Jakarta as the city with the 6th worst air quality in the world, worse than yesterday’s air quality ranking, Saturday (23/12) morning, namely the 17th worst in the world with an AQI of number 155 at 06.00 WIB.

The city with the worst air quality in the world on Sunday was Delhi, India with an air quality index at 495, followed by Lahore, Pakistan at 24, then Dhaka, Bangladesh at 247.

Meanwhile, the Department of Environmental and Cleanliness Information System The DKI Jakarta Province Environment stated that overall air quality in Jakarta is in the unhealthy category with an index of 113 and air pollution PM2.5.

This figure provides an explanation of the level of air quality that is detrimental to humans or sensitive animal groups or can cause damage to plants or aesthetic values.

A number of areas are monitored at HI Roundabout (109), Kelapa Gading (102), Jagakarsa (105), Kebon Jeruk (102) and Lubang Buaya (113).
